Permagrin Rentals Frequently asked Questions

Find your permagrin

How do I make a reservation?

See our To Reserve page on the website and text us at 801-810-4675. When texting, please be ready with your contact information email address, and available water craft or equipment desired for renting, and dates being requested for reservation.

What is your cancellation policy?

Reservations can be canceled with full refund if done 2 weeks in advance of the day of the rental reservation otherwise full rental fee will apply.

What if we have problems and cannot have the equipment returned on time?

We are aware that not all things go as planned with any equipment rental so we suggest leaving with ample time to bring back your rental at the agreed upon return time and therefore ensure avoiding late fees.  If a late return is unavoidable please make a Permagrin Rentals representative aware through text as soon as possible.

All late returns that happen without making a Permagrin Rentals representative aware will be subject to a $50 per half hour late fee. Late returns with proper notification will be subject to a $25 per per half hour late fee.  Personal watercraft day rentals are the most critical to have back on time as late returns will likely affect evening rentals that need to be fueled and on the lake at 5:30pm.  Late returns resulting in a cancellation of another scheduled equipment rental will result in reimbursement of the full cost and value of our lost revenue plus cost of needed arrangements with individuals being put out due to issue.

How does your process work in relationship to my reservation/damage deposit?

The damage deposit is required to pick up your rental and will be retained until the rentals are returned in the condition it was in when you pulled away with it. Each rental at Permagrin Rentals requires a $1500 for PWC and a $200 for kayak or pedal boat pre authorization hold deposit on a credit card. Our deposit is only to help secure monies in case there are any damages that you and or someone else causes to our equipment while in your care.

What happens if I damage one of the rentals?

The rental contract holds the primary renter responsible for any and all damages during the rental period and any loss in revenue from reservations that become affected due to damages making the rental unusable or unsafe. All our equipment will be thoroughly photographed upon departure as well as upon its arrival back at the office. This documentation is done in order to ensure accurate records for both Permagrin Rentals and the renter of the equipment.

Your deposit will be held until the actual cost of the repairs has been determined. It normally takes a number of business days to have any damage estimate available for our review. However, a repair order listing indicating what repairs and/or parts are needed to bring the equipment back to full working order will be available to you as soon as possible. A copy of the repair order and some additional paperwork will be sent to you. If the listed repairs turn out to cost less than the deposit that was held at that time a refund will be issued for the overpayment.

What can I do to increase mine and others safety on the water?

Permagrin Rentals wants to help people find their permagrin not their permafrown. An accident or injury is not good for anyone. We take safety very seriously and if you are looking for a machine or equipment to do above normal risky activity please look elsewhere. These activities will likely not end with a permagrin. For that reason Permagrin Rentals has several general and specific safety requirements for renting to help ensure you find your permagrin.  Please see the safety page on the website.

Are you allowed to tow wakeboards, skis, tubes and other water toys approved by the state behind rented PWC?

Yes, our PWC rental is more than capable of towing behind it and is a great way to find your permagrin as long as you follow all local and state laws that will provide you with extra precautions to ensure your safety!

How old do I need to be to rent a jet ski / PWC?

Permagrin Rentals requires that you are 21 years or older. (Renters must be 21 or older and provide the proper ID)

Can we take the rentals anywhere we want?

You can take our equipment to any body of water that you want to. There are no travel or destination limitations however Permagrin Rentals will need to be let know where the rental was used if there is a risk of the spread of foreign aquatics such as skiff transmitted disease.  Rentals will need to be properly cleaned, drained, and dried.  Do an internet search for Utah skiff transmitted disease for additional information.

What do I need to bring to pick up equipment?

Drivers license, credit card used for deposit, current towing vehicle auto insurance card. You may also need a 4-flat electric adapter and a 2-inch ball for towing (adapter and ball can be arranged if requested in advance).

What are your days of operation?

Our business operates Monday through Saturday.  Watercraft and equipment can be rented for weekend or weekly rental.  Weekend rentals ending on Sunday are to be returned Monday morning before 7AM so they can be made ready for renters to pick up at 8AM.
